Southern Beef and Green Bean Stroganoff

This recipe takes a comfort classic and gives it a Southern makeover. Mix our Reduced Sodium Green Beans and savory ground beef with a creamy, smoky, garlic-infused sauce and then spoon over buttery noodles. It’s soulful, nostalgic and full of down-home flavor.

      Ingredients:

      • 1 to 2 (14.5 oz) cans Glory Foods Reduced-Sodium Green Beans, drained
      • 2 lbs ground beef
      • 1 Tbsp olive oil
      • 1 cup yellow onion, finely diced
      • 3 garlic cloves, minced
      • 2 cup sliced mushrooms (baby bella or white button)
      • 1 tsp No-Salt Creole Seasoning
      • 1 tsp smoked paprika
      • 1 tsp garlic powder
      • 1 tsp onion powder
      • 1 tsp black pepper
      • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
      • 1 cup Reduced-sodium beef or chicken broth
      • 1 cup heavy cream or evaporated milk
      • 1 cup sour cream
      • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
      • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
      • 2 Tbsp butter
      • 2 tsp lemon juice
      • Optional garnish: chopped parsley

      To Serve:

      • 8 oz egg noodles or brown rice, cooked

      Instructions:

      Brown the Meat:

      • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

      Add Aromatics:

      • Add diced onion, mushrooms, and garlic. Sauté until tender and golden, about 5 minutes.

      Season:

      • Stir in No-Salt Creole Seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to coat.

      Make the Sauce:

      • Reducedly pour in broth while stirring to form a light gravy. Add cream, Worcestershire, and Dijon. Stir until creamy and slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.

      Add the Soul:

      • Gently fold in drained Glory Foods Green Beans and butter. Simmer on Reduced for 3 minutes.

      Finish:

      • Stir in lemon juice for brightness, then taste and adjust seasoning.

      Serve:

      • Spoon the stroganoff over warm noodles or mix the noodles with the stroganoff and garnish with chopped parsley.
