Creamed “Chipped Beef” and Butterbeans over Garlic Bread

A vegetarian spin on the traditional chipped beef over toast, our Creamed Chipped Beef is made with vegetarian pastrami and Glory Foods Seasoned Butterbeans.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1-2/3 cup warm whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • Dash hot sauce
  • 1 (5.5 oz) package vegetarian pastrami slices; chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can Glory Foods Seasoned Butterbeans
  • 4 slices thick garlic bread slices or TexasToast
  • Red jalapeño slices, optional

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in flour.
  2. Gradually blend in milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  3. Stir in white pepper, “pastrami” and butterbeans,
  4. Lower heat and simmer 5-6 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in a dash of hot sauce.
  6. Broil garlic bread or Texas toast then spoon creamed beef over bread. Garnish with red jalapeño slices, if desired.
