Classic Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 (29oz.) cans Glory Foods Seasoned Green Beans, or 2 (15-oz.) cans Glory Foods Reduced Sodium Green Beans, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until tender, about 4 minutes. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute. Slowly pour in milk and whisk vigorously until thickened. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Fold in Green Beans.
  3. Transfer the Green Bean mixture to the prepared baking dish in an even layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and the edges are bubbling.
  4. Sprinkle evenly with the crispy fried onions.
  5. Continue to bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the fried onions are golden-brown and crispy. Serve.
